Eric Elizondo is a Columbus-born artist. He is currently creating a collection of 12, 5ft x 6ft paintings of zinnia flowers. Each will be a unique color and type. The medium is acrylic on canvas and is inspired by his love of flowers and color. The collection intends to zoom in on the small, beautiful flowers to reveal their intricacies, detail, and layering.
He is a retired architect and has worked for the past 35 years in various roles and capacities at some of the best firms in Columbus, Ohio, including WSA Studio, NBBJ, Design Collective, MS Consultants, and Moody Nolan.
He loves his alma mater, Kent State University, where he earned his Bachelor's in Architecture and Master's in Architecture from the College of Architecture and Environmental Design. During his Master's program, he taught Architectural Theory and Studios I, II, III, and IV. He has generously funded the Barry and Elizondo Scholarship which funds one student per year to attend the Architecture College's Florence, Italy study abroad program.
